Norman Gombera worked for National Railways of Zimbabwe in various capacities and rose through to Business Manager, Passenger and Parcels Services. Norman left NRZ to join Manica Zimbabwe Limited in June 1998 and immediately launched unit trains of containerized tobacco trains to Durban and Beira and they were a major success during the export seasons of the years 1998 to 2005. In 2001 Norman was promoted to General Manager in charge of all container logistics terminals in Zimbabwe and in 2010 was re-assigned to head Manica Africa- Mozambique operations as Country Manager Freight Services based in Beira. In 2013 he was re-assigned again to Zimbabwe as Manica Africa Group Intermodal Executive. In February 2015 he took up the post of General Manager Operations responsible for freight clearing and forwarding logistics including warehousing in Zimbabwe.

On the academic front Norman has a BCom degree specializing in Transport Economics, and a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) degree from SBL- Unisa. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from IMM South Africa and is an Associate graduate member of the IMM of South Africa. Norman is FIATA resource person in training Company Executives and Directors in international customs clearing procedures.

Norman loves challenges and has been involved in various projects since his days at NRZ and more recently in Manica Africa (Pty) Ltd incorporating Manica Zimbabwe Limited. He is married to Tarisayi and has 5 children. In between his busy life, Norman is anavid small scale farmer. He loves travelling and is a keen soccer enthusiast.
