Future projects
Upgrading of Railway infrastructure between Bulawayo and South Africa in the next 3 years by Grindrod’s subsidiary, New Limpopo Project Investments that provides a rail link in Zimbabwe between Beitbridge at the South African border and Zimbabwe’s second city Bulawayo runs the Beitbridge-Bulawayo line after it bought an 85 percent stake in Beitbridge-Bulawayo Railway (BBR) company in 2014.

Botswana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe signed a MoU for the construction of a regional railway line to link Francistown in Botswana to Mozambique port of Techobanine through Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. Once completed the port Techobanine inter-Regional Heavy Haul Railway Project would facilitate inter-regional trade through movement of passage rail traffic and up to 12million tonnes of goods per annum through the 3 countries
